From May 29th to 31st, we had the unique opportunity to organize a new workshop in collaboration with the Oceanogràfic Foundation of Valencia, to know first hand all the research and conservation projects that Oceanogràfic is doing in the Mediterranean and worldwide, a very interesting perspective to turn conservation into art.
Turning observation into artworks
The fact that this workshop was held in collaboration with the Oceanogràfic Foundation was an incredible opportunity to get to know the wildlife of our surroundings first hand, explained by experts, as well as to get an idea of what Dulk’s methodology involves, that is, turning experiences into artworks.
On the first day, we explored the creative process and methodology behind Dulk’s artworks. On the second day, we visited the biological fields of the Oceanogràfic, where we took photos and notes to develop our ideas, and we discovered the incredible conservation and restoration work done by the Oceanogràfic Foundation. Finally, on the third day, we started to create our own artworks, inspired by these wonderful projects, which will soon be exhibited in the Oceanogràfic, with a summary of what the workshop consisted of.
